While living together in San Francisco, Alexander Harris and Spike owned six cats.
Biography[]
These cats were rescued by Spike from Kitten Poker at the demon bar Suppurating Sore Social Club. Despite saying he'd find a home for them in the following day,[1] the kittens grew into adult cats still living at Xander and Spike's apartment.
The spirit of Anya was visible to them. When they tried to interact with her, she and Xander discovered she was real and not fruit of his mind.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- Christos Gage has promised: "no cat will ever die in anything I write."[3]
- According to Gage, Xander and Spike "didn't keep all six, they adopted out some of them. I feel like they kept two of the cats, off the top of my head, but I can't recall what number Rebekah [Isaacs] settled on."[4]
