Winrich Kolbe was a director whose work includes an episode of Angel.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In addition to Angel, Kolbe directed for a number of television series, such as The Twilight Zone (2002), Star Trek: Enterprise (2002), 24 (2001), Star Trek: Voyager (1995–2000), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993–1999), Millennium (1996–1997), Space: Above and Beyond (1996), Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1995–1996), In the Heat of the Night (1988–1995), Star Trek: The Next Generation (1988–1994), Knight Rider (1983–1986), Magnum, P.I. (1981), Battlestar Galactica (1979), among many other titles.
He worked as a professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design after he retired from directing in 2003 and retired from that post in 2007. He died in September 2012 after several years of failing health. A Memorial Award in his name was awarded in 2013 as part of the Savannah College of Art and Design's film and television department's SCADemy Awards.
