Vanessa Brewer is an assassin working for Wolfram & Hart. Having trained with a group of monks to heighten her other senses, she subsequently blinded herself under unspecified circumstances, her other senses compensating for her lack of vision while leaving her free to commit murders as her condition prevented anyone from suspecting her. However, when she was dispatched to kill three young children, Angel managed to outmaneouvre her by standing still; as he was a vampire, and hence technically dead, she was unable to 'see' him when he wasn't moving, allowing him to impale her with her own weapon when she came in close enough for him to grab it. She was portrayed by Jennifer Badger Martin.
Trivia
- Vanessa's last name was originally supposed to be Vanessa Weeks.
- Her 'powers' bear a resemblance to Marvel Comics character Daredevil, in that both lost their sight but are able to function as normal thanks to their other four senses operating at a superhumanly sharp level.
