Val Trepkos was a demon originating in the "Barren Wastelands of Treshok" and a prisoner of XXI. He had 18 wins the first time he was seen, 20 by his fight with Angel. Trepkos didn't seem cruel, killing his opponents quickly rather than making them suffer. Although originally unwilling to help Angel's initial rebellion he did finally help Angel in the end, risking his own life rather than kill for the amusement of the Mcnmara brothers. Angel stood by as Trepkos killed Darin Mcnamara.
