</p><p data-rte-fromparser="true" data-rte-empty-lines-before="1">As she was consumed by the flames, she kept her eyes on the Watcher who, filled with remorse and anger for her untimely death, opened the town gates to the surviving vampires of Saint Just's horde. Afterwards, he was killed while the villagers were massacred by the vampires, though it was unclear if it was by the hands of a vampire or a vengeful villager.

<p data-rte-fromparser="true">It is reasonable and logical to deduce that, despite being a man of God, the Watcher was an accomplished and formidable warrior in his own right, for his Slayer grew to be an adept in both armed and unarmed combat under his tutelage. He was also an educated and skillful man, given how he taught his Slayer to read.
