Twilight Group

The Twilight symbol

The so-called Twilight Group was a cabal of humans, as well as demons, that sought to destroy the new Slayers created in the aftermath of the Battle at the Hellmouth, particularly Buffy Summers and her Slayer Organization, with an additional goal of wiping out magical forces in general. They were identified by a symbol that represented Twilight, their leader. Some of its members, like General Voll and Lieutenant Moulter, were part of the United States Military, using its capabilities to further Twilight's agenda. Some magic users, such as Amy Madison, Warren Mears and Roden, were part of the group, collaborating in the belief that they would be spared the coming purge.

However, with the recent revelation that Twilight himself is actually merely an alias assumed by Angel, it had been revealed that the organisation's true purpose was merely to allow Angel to amalgamate and coordinate the inevitable anti-Slayer groups and thus limit the potential damage that they could do to Buffy's organisation, as well as provide Buffy with a specific threat to fight against so that she could better coordinate her forces and learn how to be a better leader. The motivation behind this was to push her to evolve and come into new powers, which would then allow the Twilight dimension to be born through Buffy and Angel.
