The Gentlemen used a box to contain stolen voices during their rampage in Sunnydale. Its destruction resulted in the release of the voices back to their owners.[1]
History[]
In 1999, Buffy Summers dreamed of a girl holding the box and chanting a warning about the Gentleman's arrival in Sunnydale. She recognized the box the Gentlemen kept in the clock tower they were hiding in, so she signaled to Riley Finn to open it. When he broke the object, it released the voices back to their owners, allowing Buffy to scream and defeat the Gentlemen.[1]
Drusilla had a similar box in her bedroom in the Crawford Street mansion,[2] and Willow Rosenberg kept one inside a chest alongside other magical items.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- A replica of the box was announced to be produced by Diamond Select Toys in 2006,[4] but it was canceled soon after.
- The box is featured in the Gentleman's Buffy the Vampire Slayer bust.
