The Scythe

Does anyone know why this thing was called "The Scythe" when it's quite clearly an axe (specifically a poleaxe) rather than a scythe? --Irrevenant (talk) 05:27, November 6, 2013 (UTC)

The writers probably just thought that Scythe was cooler.OwnerMan (talk) 06:40, November 6, 2013 (UTC)

I've always thought that it functions as an axe when held only on the shaft, but when they place one of their hands inside the blade area, it functions like a scythe. FTWinchester (talk) 14:21, November 6, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, scratch what I said before. It's refered to as the Scythe because the m plus the glottal stop are apparently meant to represent a sickle or scythe in hieroglyphs which are commonly symbols of death. Since the Scythe is the weapon forged for the Slayer, then the name Scythe is not based on the weapon's design but because of the context it originated from. It's all explained in "End of Days". When typing in the name, it doesn't seem to allow the glottal stop is able to be used to aid in the search; how was it used for name in the first place?Kaidus (talk) 20:00, October 10, 2016 (UTC)
