What can I say..I wanted to spark some contention today lol! Betty is a slang term from the 20's for an unattractive woman, typically paired with "bug-eyed", i.e. "stacy? she's a bug-eyed betty" but like many American terms (especially slang) it was often shortened simply to "betty". The problem, two-fold, is 1. what else could you name her... 2. a problem would only arise if another non-named woman from the 20's was addressed in this fashion :) Probably not really an issue just wanted to point this out and get a smidge'o'feedback!
