But oh, no, you still think it's neat having Slayer strength. Ooh, big deal! Stronger than humans! Who isn't?
Glorificus[src]

Strength was the ability to exert physical force, notable when it was greater than what their body would allow. It was a common power among many supernatural beings, though their exact level of strength could vary between beings and races.

Strong beings[]

Vampires[]

  • Vampire: Some had described as rising already stronger than when they were humans.[1][2][3]
  • Turok-Han: A Slayer, with experience against multiple vampires, had significant difficulty against the strength of a Turok-Han when fighting one for the first time.[4]
  • Van-Tal: Theorized as the purest form of a vampire's demonic being, Van-Tals didn't include the overall weakness of a vampire's human form.[5]
  • Zompire: It was observed that zompires had enhanced strength in comparison to a common vampire.[6][7]
  • Slaypire: They possessed the combined strength of a Slayer and vampire, being notably stronger than before[8][9] and their vampire counterparts.[7]
  • New vampire: Their strength was superior to common vampires by definition; one was able to toss a car aside while an experienced vampire recognized he could not,[10] at least not with the same ease.[11]
  • Dracula: His strength was more powerful than of new vampires, being able to behead one just by strangling them with his bare hands.[12]

Demons[]

Other supernatural beings[]

  • Mummy: Could overpower humans larger than them.[34]
  • Olaf: Even without his Enchanted Hammer, the trollgod had strength enough to throw a Slayer flying by slapping her.[35]
  • The Beast: Greater than a Slayer.[36]
  • Ugly Man: Greater than a Slayer.[8]
  • Whistler: Being a demon/higher being hybrid, Whistler possessed strength inherited from both species, especially in his demonic form.[37] He was capable of throwing Angel through a wall[38] and punching through the vampire's chest.[39] Whistler also cracked the ceiling by punching the powerful half-demons Pearl and Nash into it.[40]

Humans[]

  • Slayer: Capable of lifting and throwing human-sized subjects sizable distances,[1][41][42][43][44][45][46][6] propelling enemies into the air with a single blow,[41][47][48][49][50][51] bending solid metal with their bare hands,[1][52][53][54][55][56] breaking human bones with ease,[57][58] and punching into concrete walls to no ill effect.[36]
  • Buffy Summers: In addition to being a Slayer strength, she had her strength temporary increased under a enjoining spell, when she was capable of punching through Adam's armored hide;[59] and while empowered by the Twilight prophecy, when she could lift a train with one hand.[60]
  • Caleb: Empowered by the First Evil, he was able to shatter solid concrete with his bare hands, snap people's necks with ease, and send an opponent flying dozens of feet with a single blow.[61]
  • Marcus Hamilton: Could punch a hole through a man's chest with ease.[62]
  • Primal: When possessed, could be almost as strong as a Slayer.[63]
  • Severin: After he absorbed large amounts of mystical energy, Severin was strong enough to physically overpower even Illyria.[64]

Robots[]

Higher beings and Old Ones[]

  • Glorificus: Greater than Slayers[70] and vampires.[71] Could level a building by stomping her foot[70] and slaughter hundreds of men in seconds.[72]
  • Illyria: While in a human shell, she still possessed tremendous superhuman strength that allowed her to overpower two 100+ years old vampires simultaneously.[73] Even after a Mutari generator stripped much of her strength, she could shatter a demon's head with a single punch[74] and Spike likened a blow from Illyria to being hit by a Mack truck.[75] After her resurrection, she could throw a Slayer and a car flying high into the air.[76]

Enhancements[]

There were several means to temporarily increase one's strength considerably.

  • Peter Clarner used a special formula to enhance his strength. He was strong enough to break open the library cage door used to house werewolves.[77]
  • The drugs the Initiative agents took that were administered by Maggie Walsh enhanced their physical attributes, but not to a supernatural level.[78]
  • Equipping the Orbs of Nezzla'Khan would grant a human enough strength to raise the back end an armored car.[79]
  • Casting a spell on oneself would grant strength enough to challenge a Slayer..[54]
  • Vampires could enhance their strength by drinking special blood.[74]
  • A mystical drug could make a Kwaini demon 20 times stronger than its innate strength.[80]
  • When Andrew Wells drank from the Asclepian vial, his ideal self included increased strength described as close to "Golden-Age Superman."[81]
