Writer: Peter David | Artist: Nicola Scott
First up, Peter David (Spike: Old Times) and Nicola Scott focus on Illyria-a goddess without worshippers, existing in a world not her own, surrounded by humans whose emotions she is trying to comprehend. And her greatest sin was the means by which she arrived here in the first place: she destroyed Winnifred Burkle's body and soul in order to use it as her own vessel to exist. Now witness Illyria as she tries to find a personal touchstone by which she can at least understand the human-she returns to the remnants of Fred's old life to try and make herself feel guilty over having destroyed Fred's very existence.

The City of Angels can be a gateway to dreams… or the entrance to Hell itself. When Gunn's starry-eyed cousin from Ohio runs away from home and winds up in L.A., it's up to Gunn to find him and get him to safety before the city literally chews him up and spits him out.

And advice from Spike, of all people, probably isn't helping matters…

Writer: Jeff Mariotte | Artist: David Messina
Before Angel hit L.A., there were plenty of demons around. One of them was named Doyle, a half-human, half-Brachen demon with personal problems galore. When Angel gets to town, Doyle is entrusted by The-Powers-That-Be with guiding his quest for atonement-but with difficulties of his own to atone for, what made TPTB think he was the right, er… half-man for the job?

Writer: Jay Faerber | Artist: Bob Gill
While working on a genealogy project for one of his college classes, Connor — the son of Angel — becomes increasingly torn between his conflicting sets of memories. What is his true nature?
