A spell was cast to give solid form to incorporeal creatures result of Thaumogenesis.[1]
History[]
Willow and Tara performed the spell in 2001 on a demon brought to Earth from Buffy's resurrection spell. In the Magic Box, the two witches held hands with their eyes closed and chanted:[1]
- "Child of words, hear thy makers. Child of words, we entreat. With our actions did we make thee, to our voices wilt thou bend. With our potions thou took motive, with our motions came to pass. We resend no past devotions, give thee substance, give thee mass."[1]
When the magic channeled through Willow, Tara noticed the light over her girlfriend and dropped her hands. Willow's eyes were black as she said: "Solid." In the Summers residence, the creature became corporeal, and the Slayer was able to kill it.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- A similar spell was used by the Scooby Gang in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Xbox video game when the Master's spirit was brought back by the remnants of the Order of Aurelius. Since the Master's spirit could not be harmed, Buffy came up with the risky plan to restore the Master's body to him so that she could kill him for a second time.
