Continuity[]
- Anyanka mentions Giles' "constant head trauma"; after many instances in which he falls unconscious ("Witch," "Inca Mummy Girl," "Revelations," etc.), Giles once described himself as having "a tendency to get knocked on the head" ("A New Man").
- Giles mentions the Faerie Realm, where he visited in In Pieces on the Ground, Part Four.
- Indira questions Giles' youth as a warlock that wanted nothing to do with the Watchers Council, which was first mentioned in the episode "The Dark Age."
- Indira mentions that Buffy's first Watcher was murdered (The Origin, Part Two) and she burned down the school gym (The Origin, Part Three).
- Giles says he might had been chosen as Buffy's Watcher because, due to his own rebellious past, he would more easily connect with her. Giles' grandmother Edna used the same argument when convincing him to return to the Council (Death and Consequences, Part Four).
- Indira wonders about the Council having Giles replace Faith's recently deceased Watcher, but he argues he was a temporary backup. Faith sought Sunnydale by herself in "Faith, Hope & Trick" and Wesley was sent as her new Watcher in "Bad Girls."
