No, I mean, it’s a myth that it’s a myth. There is a Santa Claus.
Anya Jenkins[src]

Santa Claus was one of the names given to a demon from the sixteenth century. According to Anya Jenkins, the creature was known for operating on Christmas night, using flying reindeer, climbing down chimneys, and disemboweling children.[1]

A legend about Santa Claus was common among humans, although it did not include his demonic nature and replaced his gory purposes for bringing presents to homes.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

  • In alternate canon story New School Nightmare, Santa Claus is revealed to be a vampire who used the letters he received as invites to his victims' homes, although still dressed as a classical Santa and leaving presents under Christmas trees.
