Sanctuary Spell

Gunn and Cordelia testing the Sanctuary Spell.

The Sanctorium Spell also known as the Sanctuary spell was a spell that prevented physical violence in a given area. It could be fitted to affect demons or humans as well. The Transuding Furies were hired by Lorne to cast it on Caritas and later on the Hyperion Hotel.

The spell required burnt Bloodroot (or clove) dust, to be sprinkled around the target perimeter as well as lit candles, and the recitation of a prayer in the caster's native language.

Counters

  • The spell could be lifted easily by the Furies themselves.
  • A small group of Lilliad demons on a full moon could break the spell.
  • A higher being like Jasmine, under Cordelia Chase's persona, had the power to break the spell, allowing the manipulated half-breed Connor to try and kill his father.
