San Sui was an ancient Chinese vampire from Changsha, along the Xiang River. He traveled the world to test his fighting skills by challenging worthy opponents and then drinking their blood to give himself strength.[1]
Biography[]
In 1998, San Sui went to Sunnydale to challenge various fighters, including the Sunnydale High karate champion, Lloyd Modano, who he killed. Buffy interfered in one of his challenges with a local sensei just as he was about to finish him off. San Sui revealed that he was saving the Slayer, "Sunnydale's Greatest Fighter," for last. He gained the advantage and knocked Buffy to the ground. As he stood above her, Xander staked the vampire from behind.[1]
About three years later, Adam arranged a demon gladiator ring comprised of many previously defeated Scooby Gang enemies. San Sui was Buffy's twenty-seventh challenger, and she killed him by beheading the vampire.[2]
