Roy Dotrice was an actor who portrayed the Roger Wyndam-Pryce cyborg on the Angel television series.

Career[]

Dotrice was famed for his portrayal of the antiquarian John Aubrey in the record-breaking solo play Brief Lives. He appeared as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's father Leopold in the film Amadeus, Charles Dickens in the miniseries Dickens of London, and Jacob Wells/Father in the television series Beauty and the Beast.

In 2000, Dotrice won a Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway revival of A Moon for the Misbegotten.

He narrated a series of audiobooks for George R. R. Martin's epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, for which he held the Guinness World Record for the most character voices for an audiobook by an individual.

Dotrice died at the age of 94 on October 16, 2017 in London.[1]
