Rome was the capital city of Italy. It was residence of Monsignor Rivalli's order of the Inquisitore,[1] the Immortal,[2] and a partying decoy of Buffy Summers.[3]
History[]
In 1771, Daniel Holtz tracked Angelus and captured him in Rome with the help of Monsignor Rivalli and his order of the Inquisitore. Holtz questioned why the vampire would go to a holy place, and Angelus explained Darla loved Botticelli's frescoes at the Sistine Chapel.[1]
In 1894, Angelus, Spike, Darla, and Drusilla visited Rome, where the henchmen of the Immortal captured Angelus and Spike. The Immortal freed them after he finished his sexual encounter with Darla and Drusilla.[2]
In 1953, Pearl attempted to get pregnant by a black widower demon in Rome. The demon tried to eat her soon after they had sex, and he was strong enough to overpower Nash. Spike, who was in town with Drusilla, appeared in their room to collect a gambling debt by killing the black widower and inadvertently became Pearl's "hero."[4]
In 2004, Andrew Wells had the idea of the Slayer Organization having a partying Slayer posing as Buffy Summers in Rome.[3] Angel and Spike inadvertently sought the decoy while also trying to recover Capo di Famiglia's head. While in town, they visited the Rome branch of Wolfram & Hart.[2]
The following year, Andrew and his Italian Slayer squad escaped the Twilight Group through catacombs in Rome, which were heavily decorated with bones from early Roman martyrs. Warren and Amy organized an ambush with "goatmen" attacking the Slayers, resulting in the death of Posey.[5]
