You never had any use for me as a child, and you can't bear the thought of me as an adult. Tell me, Father, what is it that galls you so, that I was never as good at the job as you... Or that I just might be better?
Wesley Wyndam-Pryce[src]

Roger Wyndam-Pryce was the father of Wesley Wyndam-Pryce and a former member of the Watchers Council.[1]

In 1963, Roger and his colleagues encountered Spike when the vampire was slaughtering an orphanage in Vienna; Spike killed two of Roger's men before escaping. At some point, Roger also fought the creature known as the "swamp man."[1]

When his son Wesley was seven years old, Roger caught him attempting to perform a resurrection spell on a bird that had flown into the windowpane.[1]

In early 2000, an Ethros demon taunted Wesley by telling him that "all those hours" locked up under the stairs and he still hadn't been good enough for "Daddy" or the Council.[2] In 2003, a soulless Angelus also taunted Wesley that he couldn't understand the "special bond between dad and son," given that his father was ashamed of him.[3]

In May 2001, Wesley called his father on the phone to wish him a happy birthday. He told Roger about his new position as the leader of Angel Investigations, but his father reminded Wesley about the time he had been fired from the agency.[4]

As a former Watcher, Roger was one of the few survivors of the worldwide attacks on the Council[1] Caleb coordinated in late 2002 under orders of the First Evil.[5]

In 2003, a cyborg infiltrated the Wolfram & Hart Los Angeles branch using a glamour to disguise himself as Roger. When the cyborg threatened Fred, Wesley shot him without hesitation multiple times. Wesley vomited when he believed he had killed his own father, but the cyborg soon revealed his true nature. Later that night, Wesley called his father to see how he was, and Roger chastised him for calling so early on the day.[1]
