Synopsis[]

Spike runs into an old enemy from his punk days in NYC. Some vampires never change.

Summary[]

A vampire runs in fear through the streets. Spike finds him, and the other vampire promises him Aerosmith tickets. Spike says corporate rock sucks and dusts the vampire. From afar, a rocker vampire tells another that Spike has turned on his own.

Spike encounters Dawn juggling devil sticks outside her home. He asks about her sister, but Dawn explains Buffy is away with Xander. Spike suddenly hears something and tries to hide Dawn inside, but the rocker vampire blocks at the door. They greet and Spike recognizes him as Emo Globin. Spike tells Dawn to stay behind him and explains they know each other from way back.

New York City, 1977. Spike attends a show of The Bleeders and promises a girl to let her hang out with the band. The vocalist sings about draining someone, and Spike gives a thumbs up to the drummer, Emo. The show ends and the girl joins a group to enter backstage, where the band awaits them. Emo asks who wants to go first.

Now, Emo punches Spike. They fight while exchanging insults about each other's appearance. Spike reaches Dawn's stick and stakes Emo. Dawn go after Spike, and Emo says his last words: "Punk isn't dead." As Emo turns into dust, Spike replies: "It is now."
