Robson was a Watcher and a close friend of Rupert Giles. At some point he was assigned to train Nora, a Potential Slayer, in London, England.
Shortly after the First Evil began its campaign to eliminate the Slayer line, Robson returned to his home only find Nora lying dead on the floor. When he moved in closer to investigate, a Bringer attacked him with a dagger, but he managed to fight back. However, another Bringer joined in, and soon Robson was stabbed and fell to the ground.
Not long after, Rupert Giles charged into the room to find the dead girl and the severely injured Robson, who warned Giles that what the Council had feared for years, an attack on the Slayer line, had began and that he had to gather all Potential Slayers. As Robson lost consciousness due to his wounds, a Bringer raised an axe and swung it at Giles.
Robson somehow survived and called Buffy Summers to find out what had happened to Giles, whom he last saw about to be decapitated. Following Robson's information, Xander, Anya, Dawn and Andrew check to see if Giles is the First or not and discover that he survived the attack as he heard the Bringer coming up behind him due to the squeaking of its shoes and decapitated it.
