Multiverse is the term that refers to the collection of all individual dimensions (or planes) of existence. For an unknown reason, many higher beings had the dimension known as Earth playing a central role in their plans.

Notably, the term “universe” denotes only a single dimension.

Behind the Scenes

  • The Buffyverse refers to the shared fictional universe in which the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel are set. This term, originally coined by fans, has since been used in the titles of published works, and adopted by Joss Whedon,[1] the creator of the fictional universe. The Buffyverse has been expanded in licensed comics, novels, games, among others, although not always contributing to the canon history.
