Michael Reaves was a writer whose work includes Buffyverse short stories from Simon & Schuster.
Career[]
A prolific novelist, TV, short story, and comic book writer, Reaves is best known for his Emmy Award-winning work on Batman: The Animated Series, on which he served as a story editor, and countless other animated projects — including Batman: Mask of the Phantasm — as well as several Star Wars novels.
He also wrote for animated series such as The Real Ghostbuster, He-Man, Dungeons & Dragons, Transformers, My Little Pony, Gargoyles, and Superman. His credits on live-action television include The Twilight Zone, Star Trek: Swamp Thing, The Flash, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Star Trek: New Voyages.
Reaves was nominated twice and won one Emmy for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program for his work on Batman. He was also nominated for an Annie for Writing in the Field of Animation for a Gargoyles episode.
Reaves died on March 2023 due to complications of Parkinson's disease. He was 72 years old.[1]
