Hayes is best known for voicing the titular role in the animated series Doc McStuffins and starring opposite Queen Latifah on the CBS series The Equalizer. Hayes starred in the film The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster and has appeared in TV series such as Grey's Anatomy, Cougar Town, Chicago Fire, Liv and Maddie, Quantico, Code Black, Raven's Home, and Just Add Magic.
Hayes' voice acting credits also include the video games League of Legends and God of War: Ragnarök, the animations Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie and Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, and the audio series Slayers: A Buffyverse Story.
