Laibach of the Abyss was a demon who coerced Spike into doing its bidding by possessing Drusilla, threatening to completely destroy Drusilla's mind and render her catatonic unless Spike obeyed. Under Laibach's orders, Spike returned to Sunnydale and its Hellmouth, reclaimed the Sunken Church in Laibach's name, summoned the necromancer Matereani, and reformed the Order of Aurelius. All of this was so Laibach could resurrect the Master for unknown reasons.
