Jo was a woman whose baby was intended to become a great force of good. She was protected from evil demons by Kamal, a Prio Motu Demon. Six months before meeting Angel she was working the register at Costco. However, Angel, accidentally killed Kamal, believing that he was a threat to her. To redeem himself, he became Jo's champion before The Tribunal.
