The Initiative facilities were a military complex hidden underground below the University of California, Sunnydale, with entrance through the Lowell House.
The place was abandoned when the agency was shut down in 2000 after the destruction of the Initiative,[1] and presumably destroyed in 2003 along with the rest of Sunnydale.[2]
Layout[]
The facilities were composed of:
- The pit,[3] the main research area where experiments were performed on captured Hostile SubTerrestrials.
- The armory, where weaponry for its agents and soldiers were kept.[1]
- Room 114, a brig where Riley Finn was imprisoned after releasing Daniel Osbourne from a holding cell and trying to get him out the Initiative facilities.[4]
- Room 314, a restricted area of the Initiative, accessible only to Maggie Walsh and Francis Angleman, where Adam was created.[5][6][7]
- Secret laboratory, a room erased from records and maps, intended for the final stage of the 314 Project.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- The location was provided by Skunk Works, a facility responsible for a number of aircraft designs, in Palmdale, California.
