Goddess Hecate, work thy will... Before thee let the unclean thing crawl!
Amy Madison[src]

Hecate, referred as "Goddess of creatures great and small" and "Queen and Protectress of Witches",[1] was one of the goddesses most frequently invoked by witches.

She was particularly called upon in Transmogrification spells. According to Willow, Hecate hated when rituals invoking her were disrupted and required starting over.[2]

Behind the Scenes[edit | edit source]

The Greek goddess Hecate was a popular goddess in the fringes of Greek polytheistic religions. During the Helenistic period, she became the goddess of magic, witches, and ghosts. In various Neo-Pagan practices, she is held as the goddess of witches.
