While created as part of licensed material, it has not been confirmed as part of the "real" Buffyverse continuity.

Haunted is a novel by Jeff Mariotte centered around Angel and his team.

Cordy's finally getting a big break - she will be a contestant on some "reality programming". She must spend five days and four nights in an apparently haunted house. Living with a ghost and catching demons for a living, she sees this as an easy challenge. However, there is more going on than Cordy knows. In a vision on her first night, she sees one of the applicants who didn't make it to the show. She secretly communicates the scenario to Angel and Co., who are instantly on the case. Angel, Wesley and Gunn search for the missing actress as supernatural activity at the house increases. Soon, Wolfram & Hart also get involved and Cordelia is forced to consider her priorities.

The events took place after "Dead End" but before "Belonging".

  • While staying in the house, Cordelia is briefly 'visited' by Doyle while she is sleeping, who warns her that something strange is going on in the house, although the novel itself is ambiguous on whether this is an actual vision from Doyle or if it is merely a dream.

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce: "[...] as much as we'd like to see more of Cordelia's debut appearance on national television, there's a young woman in trouble severe enough that The Powers That Be sent Cordy a vision about her, and that reality must overrule our selfish desire to be entertained and amused."
