Gorgon venom was magical substance that gargoyles were susceptible to.[1]
History[]
The Magic Box had a sample of gorgon venom among various other venoms of different colors. A stake dipped in the venom was sufficient to dispatch gargoyles, though the right venom must be used; if one used the wrong sample, the gargoyles would become invincible.[1]
Rupert Giles stated that the venom reacted strongly to anything of gargoyle origin, so Buffy used an amputated gargoyle claw for catalysis. Finding that the green liquid was Gorgon venom, Buffy infused a stake with it, then used it to slay gargoyles that attacked the Magic Box.[1]
