Sunnydale Cemetery was one of the twelve cemeteries in Sunnydale,[1] along Restfield and Shady Hill Cemetery.
History[]
In 1997, Rupert Giles arrived at the cemetery at night to investigate the corpse of Andrew Borba alone, who he believed would rise as the Anointed One. Giles was then attacked by two vampires from the Order of Aurelius, who he repealed with crosses then sought refuge within the funeral home, where he awaited to be rescued by Buffy Summers. She arrived with Willow Rosenberg, Alexander Harris, and Owen Thurman under the disguise of a double date.[2]
In 2002, the Trio chased two vampires by all-terrain vehicles, but they crashed into each other while they escaped to the cemetery's gate. Although, just outside it, Buffy was patrolling and fought the vampires, allowing Warren Mears to take the disk one of them dropped. As the Trio escaped unnoticed by the Slayer, Spike appeared and hold one of the vampires, offering his help in exchange of her telling their friends about their relationship. Buffy denied him, staked the vampires by herself, and left.[3]
The Sunnydale Cemetery was presumably destroyed in 2003 along with the rest of Sunnydale, following the battle at the Hellmouth.[4]
