Black widower demon was a species of humanoid arachnid demons. Like black widow spiders, these demons consumed their prey after mating with them.[1]
History[]
In 1953, a black widower mate with Pearl, a half-demon sent to Rome by her mother to become impregnated after having sex with the demon. However, the black widower tried to eat her soon after, and Pearl called out for her brother, Nash. He ran into the room, and the demon punched Nash unconscious. Pearl's projected burning beams of light from her eyes, but it didn't penetrate the demon's carapace.[1]
The demon held Pearl by her neck, when Spike jumped through the hotel room's window. The vampire pointed a sword to the demon, telling him that others had warned him to not play cards with the widower. As the demon promised to pay the gambling debt later, Spike beheaded it with a sword, killing the demon and inadvertently saving Pearl, who called Spike a "hero."[1]
