Elizabeth Bathory, known as the Blood Countess, was a countess in Hungary who tortured and killed girls working as maids in her castle. It was also rumored that she bathed in the blood of young virgins in order to stay youthful.[1]
In 1609, the Slayer Ildikó Géllert infiltrated the Csejthe Castle in order to investigate these deaths, where she discovered a number of vampires guarding it. Although, Ildikó was drugged and became a victim herself, never knowing if the Blood Countess was a vampire or not.[1]
