Drusilla: Run and Catch is a comic book miniseries indefinitely postponed. It was going to act as a spin-off from the Angel & Faith series, published under the Season Nine banner by Dark Horse Comics. It would be written by Juliet Landau and illustrated by Cliff Richards and Tim Seeley.
Premise[]
As Drusilla flees through the streets of London, her savagery is witnessed by a documentary filmmaker who becomes fixated on her. He wants to bring the story behind such a unique and mysterious specimen to the big screen! His hunt for Drusilla, past, present, and future, sets him on a path of no return![1]
Continuity[]
The story would take place after Drusilla's last apparition in Daddy Issues, Part Four, when she ran away from Angel near a group of patrolling Slayers; and before her mention in Family Reunion, Part Four, when it's revealed she's killed Marianne and injured Patsy.
The title is based on the rhyme: "Run and catch, run and catch, the lamb is caught in the blackberry patch," which Drusilla sang in the episodes "Lie to Me," "What's My Line? Part Two," and "Reunion."
Cancellation[]
The miniseries was announced in February 2012,[2] along with an interview with Juliet Landau, Christos Gage, and Scott Allie.[3] The title Drusilla: Run and Catch was revealed in the April 2012 edition of Horse Power, published in all Dark Horse Comics issues from that month, including Apart (of Me), Part One and Daddy Issues, Part Four.
Due to a scheduling conflict, the miniseries was initially delayed indefinitely.[4] Editor Scott Allie indicated it would be released after all other Season Nine series had concluded.[5] However, years after the delay was announced, the miniseries had still not been released. In 2015, Allie declared he didn't know if the comic would ever be published.[6]
In 2018, Dark Horse Comics lost the license of both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel comics, so the miniseries is finally confirmed as to never be released. With this, cover artist Steve Morris shared his unpublished artwork.[7]
Publications[]
The miniseries would include 5 issues.
