- “Blinding your enemy to disorient and disable them, it's classic!”
- ―Rupert Giles[src]
A spell disfigured a target's eyes, blinding them.[1]
History[]
Catherine cast the disfiguring spell on Cordelia to eliminate the competition for the Sunnydale High cheerleading squad. The following day, Cordelia appeared disoriented, losing her vision during a driver's ed test. She crashed the car, and Buffy saved her from an oncoming van. With her eyes completely white, Cordelia complained she couldn't see anything.[1]
Giles undid it by performing a spell that reverted all the witch's spells.[1]
Requirements[]

Catherine performs the spell.
Catherine cast the spell by wrapping Cordelia's scrunchie around the doll's head and dropping the doll into a green potion brewing in a cauldron. Meanwhile, she chanted:[1]
- "Give me the power. Give me the dark. I call on you, the laughing gods. Let your blackness crawl beneath my skin. Accept thy sacrifice... of Cordelia. Feed on her."[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- In the original script for the episode "Witch," the incantation was: "Lord of Darkness, Lord of Night... accept they (sic) supplicant's sacrifice... reap thy vengeance with keen and cruel might... send thy sudden darkness out of darkest night."[2]
