Dark Horse Comics is a comic book publisher that held the publishing license for Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1998–2018), and Angel comics (1999–2002, 2011–2018).
Dark Horse has also held the publishing license for other Joss Whedon works like Firefly, Dollhouse, and Dr. Horrible, as well as works by Jane Espenson (Husbands) and Felicia Day (The Guild).
In August 2018, it was announced that 20th Century Studios was taking the license back, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer would have its last publication at Dark Horse, twenty years after the title's debut in comics.[1]
