The Dark Slayer was the final duplicate of the real Buffy Summers created by the alchemist Dr. Flitter.

Biography

The Dark Slayer was created by Doctor Flitter using the bone of a dead Slayer taken from the Kien-Ju vampire sect, a polaroid of Buffy Summers, and the blood of the vampire Selke. The first attempt had been sabotaged by Spike and Drusilla, who added essence of garlic and powdered crucifx to the formula, resulting in a lifeless slime.[1] The second attempt was rejected due to its deformed appearance, so she was dumped into the sewers. In their third attempt, the Dark Slayer was successfully created.[2]

The Dark Slayer caught the real Buffy unprepared during one of her nightly patrols. Being able to foresee Buffy's moves, the Dark Slayer quickly overpowered and seemingly killed her, dumping Buffy's body in the sewers.[3] She proceeded to assume Buffy's identity and attempt to kill her friends, before discovering that Buffy had survived their encounter.[4]

The Dark Slayer proceeded to track Buffy down in the sewers, where they fought again. Though she briefly gained the upper hand, Buffy noticed that the Dark Slayer was dying, just like her sister. The previous Dark Slayer clone jumped into her, giving Buffy the advantage she needed to knock them into the sewer water, apparently killing both clones.[5]

Physiology and powers

The Dark Slayer possessed the typical powers of a Slayer, including superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, and durability. During their first encounter, she overpowered Buffy with ease.[4]

As a side effect of the vampire blood used to create her, the Dark Slayer had no reflection.[4] She also possessed an accelerated aging process that rendered her unable to heal any wounds inflicted on her.[4][5]
