Danny Strong is an actor who portrayed Jonathan Levinson on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series.


Strong originally auditioned for the role of Xander, which would be taken by Nicholas Brendon, before his appearance in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer pilot in 1996.[1]

In addition to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Strong has acted in the television series Gilmore Girls, Seinfeld, Clueless, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Over the Top, Grey's Anatomy, Boy Meets World, How I Met Your Mother, Mad Men, Girls, Justified, and Billions, among others.

He has appeared as well in films such as Pleasantville, Dangerous Minds, Seabiscuit, the spoof Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth, and Sydney White.

Strong also wrote the screenplays for Recount, Game Change, The Butler, and the two-part finale of The Hunger Games film trilogy Mockingjay – Part 1 and Mockingjay – Part 2. Strong also is a co-creator, executive producer, and writer for the Fox series Empire.

In 2023, Strong returned as Jonathan in the Audible audio series Slayers: A Buffyverse Story.
