Danny Strong is an American actor who portrayed Jonathan Levinson on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also appeared as Doyle McMasters on Gilmore Girls. He is a writer/producer, as well, having written and co-produced the Emmy and Golden Globe winning HBO movie Recount, starring Laura Dern and Kevin Spacey, about the 2000 U.S. presidential election and subsequent court action. The screenplay, Strong's first, earned him an award from the Writer's Guild of America. He won an Emmy for best writing for Game Change.

Strong attended college at the University of Southern California, where he appeared in stage productions with George Hertzberg and J. August Richards.

Strong also appeared in the parody film Shriek if You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth with Julie Benz.

Strong originally auditioned for the role of Xander Harris, but was cast as Jonathan instead after the part of Xander was given to Nicholas Brendon. Jonathan was featured in the unaired pilot, but did not appear in any of the show's regular episodes until the second season.
