Crystal ball was an artifact used among witches[1] for divination purposes.[2][3]
History[]
The Magic Box sold crystal balls, which, according to Anya, was very popular among amateurs.[4] Despite Xander considering it cheesy to give to a witch, Giles bought Tara a crystal ball for her birthday in 2000.[1]
The following year, Willow and Tara kept a crystal ball in their room at 1630 Revello Drive. It was seemingly smashed to pieces when a demon approached them, but it turned out it was only an illusion created by the demon when they saw that the ball was still intact.[5] Willow had the crystal ball taken away in her attempt to fight her magic addiction.[6]
During the Fall of Los Angeles, Lorne used a crystal ball to keep an eye on his friends[2] and, with the help of Timothy's powers, learn about the plans of the other Demon Lords. However, the Senior Partners blocked him from seeing Angel in the Wolfram & Hart building.[7]
Years later, Amy used bottled magic from the Magic Town to recharge a crystal ball and spy on Willow[3] in San Francisco.[8]
