Cordelia Chase was a Sunnydale High School student, Miss Sunnydale 2017 and 2018, and a member of the Scooby Gang.
Biography
Running for class president in 2019, Cordelia distributed buttons among students for her campaign, greeting and offering them support for whatever they needed. When asked about her kindness, she argued that there was no point in assuming everybody was out to get her, and that she never cared what people thought of her.[1] She was crowned the Homecoming Queen that year.[2]
Cordelia developed some attraction to Spike after meeting him at the the school parking lot,[1] daydreaming about him while in class.[2] She was bothered to see him with his lover Drusilla while the couple fought Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg, and Alexander Harris. Although, she did not know their identity as vampires, and declared her inability to be nice with the Scooby Gang anymore, labeling them as "too weird".[3]
While the Hellmouth was activated during the Halloween party at Sunnydale High, Cordelia heard Buffy, Xander, and Robin Wood talking about their own supernatural identities at the school library.[4]
After the opening of the Hellmouth, she discovers the damage done in Sunnydale High School. Cordelia works in a clothing store. While she's in the store, she thinks to see Spike. Unfortunately, she quickly realizes it's not him. That same evening, she walks her dog and stumbles on a crack caused by the opening of hellmouth. She thinks everything is horrible.[5]
On the way, as she was going to high school, she was approached by a person asking for help. Cordelia discovered that it was Luke, a classmate. He puched Cordelia into a cellar and locked him up. On night, an other classmate, Rose Martinez went the house of her classmate Luke to give him his homework assignements. Indeed, as he had missed the school day. She found Cordelia bounded and gagged. Rose was attacked by Luke. Cordelia defended Rose by pushing Luke. In the fight, Rose armed herself with gardening shears, and stabbed him when he moved to use a hammer against Cordelia. As Luke grabbed her before they left, someone threw a rock on his head that made his unconscious. Cordelia and Rose believe it had been Buffy, but they turned to face Kendra Young, followed by Robin.[6]
