A spell was a conjuration that allowed verbal communication with those who couldn't talk.

History

Ancient Turks used the spell communicate with the dying, letting them say their last messages before passing.

Dawn suggested the spell for use on a Bringer the Scooby Gang had captured. Willow cast the spell and it allowed them to interrogate the Bringer despite his mutilated tongue, although the spell made use of a medium through Andrew.

Giles broke the spell by killing the Bringer, which freed Andrew from his influence.

Requirements

Willow chanted "Konusun bizimle" in Turkish then repeated it once in English: "Speak to us."

Behind the scenes

• In the original script for "Touched," the complete incantation was: "Kendinizi çok uykulu hissetmeye bashliyorsunuz. Çok uykulu, çok uykulu. Gözlerinizin önünde sallamak için cep saatim yok ama, sizin de gözleriniz yok. Konusun bizimle." (English: "You are getting very sleepy. Very, very sleepy. I do not have a pocket watch but then again, you do not have eyes. Speak to us.")
