"Claw Guy" was how Buffy Summers referred to a vampire with a metal claw in place of his right hand, which he lost as a former member of the Order of Aurelius.[1]
Biography[]
This vampire gained a place in certain records for displeasing the Master and cutting his hand off in penance, only to replace said hand with three large, metal claws. In 1996, he hunted in the area of Sunnydale's Weatherly Park, where he practically shredded a homeless man. He also fought Angel, who escaped the encounter with a heavy injury on his arm.[1]
Buffy tracked Claw down and chased him off the park. Claw tried to attack She-Mantis, but he was frightened when he sensed her real nature. Days later, while in search of Xander, Buffy captured and used the vampire to find the place of residence of the She-Mantis; once they found it, he cut loose his restrains and attacked the Slayer. In the ensuing fight, Buffy managed to stake him with a broken piece of wooden fence.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- Unidentified in the series, the episode script referred to him simply as "Claw."[2]
