Behind the scenes[]
- The comic series Buffy the Vampire Slayer Classic was originally titled simply as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. With the publishing of the comic continuation Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight, these stories were reprinted in Omnibuses, but then a distinction was necessary. The publication of the Classic digital collection is the origin for the new entitlement to these comics as "classics."
- Although intended to be a complete collection of all Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic stories from the original series, the short stories Rogues Gallery and "Haunted (Prologue)" were exceptionally left out.
- Contrary to most collections, Classic does not have original artworks for covers; the images are either previously published covers or comic panels.
