I've been avoiding this place for so many years, and it's nothing. It's nice, got the pretty windows, the pillars, lots of folks to eat…
Boone[src]

An unidentified church was one of the forty-three churches in Sunnydale.[1]

History[]

In 2000, a vampire attack took place in this church, where Boone and two other vampires barricaded themselves in with at least twenty parishioners as hostages. The vampires acted after being recruited by Adam, who had influenced them talking about overcoming their fears, which included being killed by religious objects.[2]

Reporter Who Are You

The attack caused police and media attention, so Faith Lehane, in Buffy Summers's body, gave up her flight to help. Riley Finn had been late for church and was able to determinate it was a military situation, so the police didn't intercede. Riley intended to enter and help as well, but Faith reminded him of his injury and had him to wait outside. Buffy (in Faith's body), Rupert Giles, Willow Rosenberg, and Tara Maclay also arrived outside, where Giles had to act hysterical in order to distract the police so Buffy could slip inside.[2]

Faith entered the church and staked one of the vampires, while the hostages ran away. Riley removed the hooded robe of an escaping vampire and burned him in sunlight. As Boone advanced on Faith, Buffy staked him from behind, so the two Slayers then began fighting each other. Faith got Buffy on the floor and punched her while cursing her, until Buffy grabbed her hand with a Draconian Katra. As the two switched back to their own bodies, Faith ran away from the church.[2]
