A chip was used by Warren Mears to distort the temporal perceptions of Buffy Summers. In addition to working as a camera and a microphone to monitor the Slayer, the device made time pass by faster around her than for herself. When Buffy discovered the chip stuck on her sweater, Warren pressed a bottom that made it self-destruct.[1]
