- “Ah, isn't that thing? Some of the kids at my camp put it together for me. Thought I might get the chance to stick it in something now.”
- ―Charles Gunn[src]
Charles Gunn owned an axe he used for killing demons while he worked for Angel Investigations.[1][2][3] The weapon had a curved handle, and its head was adorned with part of a hubcap stamped across it.
History[]
Some kids at Gunn's camp built the axe for him in 2000. Gunn expected to debut the weapon soon, but Angel Investigations only had a searching task for him that day.[4]
That year, Gunn used the axe to fight the humans worshiping Turfog and kill the thrall demon.[1] He also wielded the axe against a large two-headed, fire-flatulating demon in the sewers[2] and the vampires of Doug Sanders' Selective Slaughter in 2001.[5]
In late 2002, Gunn had the axe in a fight against a vampire, who took the weapon from him and threw it at Fred; Connor snatched the axe before it reached Fred at launched it back at the vampire, beheading him.[6]
Gunn returned from demon extermination with the axe covered in purple fluids, having used it to kill a demon's babies.[3] While under a spell that made the Angel Investigations team amnesiac, Gunn armed himself with the axe to search for vampires in the Hyperion Hotel.[7]
The axe was destroyed in 2002 when Gunn threw it at the Beast, who bent the blade as he caught it.[8]
