Differences
- The front cover states the novel is "based on the second Buffy computer game." Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds was in fact the fouth game to be released.
- The book also has a historian's note explaining the story "takes place in the sixth season of Buffy", contrary to the prequel comic, which is set in season 5. Since the comic was written by the same writers as the game, Christopher Golden and Tom Sniegoski, this setting should take priority.
