Cerebral dampener was an hypnotic artifact the Trio created, empowered through a spell that involved the musk gland of a Hombja'moleev demon.[1]

Warren Mears used the cerebral dampener on his ex-girlfriend, Katrina Silber, to transform her into his sexual slave. However, the effects of the artifact were temporary, causing Katrina to break free of the spell. He tried to use the dampener once again, but the artifact's power had worn down. As Katrina tried to escape the Trio's lair, Warren smashed a champagne bottle on the back of her head, killing her.[1]

When activated, the cerebral dampener emitted a flash of light that took away the free will of the victim, making them submissive to the caster. Wearing sunglasses, however, blocked the effects of the dampener. Also, the device required periodic magical powering from the demon's gland, otherwise it became useless.[1]
