The Brotherhood of Seven was a group of demons who took the form of young humans. Every seven years they sought out human brains and hearts in order to maintain their human form, otherwise they would revert to their true visages. Six of them were killed by the demon hunter Sid, with Marc being the last survivor. He was killed in 1997.
These demons were also capable of resurrecting after being beheaded. Destruction of their hearts was necessary to keep them from coming back.
