Blood and Fog was a novel written by Nancy Holder based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Synopsis

Whitechapel, London, England, 1888: Jack the Ripper is massacring prostitutes and the townspeople aren't sure what to do. Unfortunately for them, Jack the Ripper isn't merely human and he relishes spilling the blood of innocent humans whom he's come to hate over the years. Back in the day, when Spike, Drusilla, Angelus, and Darla ran through the night in pursuit of dark fun, another evil being was stalking the streets, dispatching young women with brutal efficiency, Spike aligned himself with the current Slayer in order to destroy Jack. Only it didn't work and Buffy and Spike come face to face with Jack in current day Sunnydale where a thick mist of blindness and terror has begun to envelop the town in its cold embrace. Unfortunately, with fog so thick, it's hard to tell where your enemy is, even if they're standing right there in front of you. Jack has plans for Sunnydale.

Behind the Scenes

• Takes place in Season 6, after the episode "Tabula Rasa". Buffy and Willow are unaware who froze the security guard, Willow is struggling with her magic addiction and Buffy is having liaisons with Spike, suggesting a placement between "Wrecked" and "Gone".
